Danfoss, founded in 1933 by Danish engineer Mads Clausen, is a multinational industrial company headquartered in Nordborg, Denmark. Originating from Clausen's creation of an expansion valve for refrigeration, the company quickly expanded into heating, hydraulics, and power electronics. Today, Danfoss employs over 41,000 people globally and operates across Europe, North America, Asia Pacific, and more. The company specializes in solutions for refrigeration, air conditioning, motor controls, and renewable energy systems, including solar power and heat pumps. It serves industries such as automotive, marine, and building technologies. Key innovations include the thermostatic radiator valve (1943) and the world’s first frequency converter for motor controls (1968). Danfoss has also played a significant role in decarbonization and energy efficiency, demonstrated by its climate-friendly industrial projects worldwide.
