Founded on social and ecological principles, the organisation focuses on creating communal living spaces that foster community interaction and mutual support. The first project, Entrepatios Las Carolinas, was completed in 2020 and features 17 dwellings for 53 residents. The building is designed with high environmental standards and includes communal spaces such as a courtyard, play area, and rooftop leisure space. The cooperative operates on a right-to-use model, where members pay a down payment but do not own the property, ensuring that the building remains in the hands of the cooperative. A second project, Entrepatios Vallekas, has also been completed, featuring 10 units and a similar focus on community and sustainability. The organisation is currently working on a third project in Villaverde Alto, seeking more families to join the cooperative. Entrepatios is notable for its participatory decision-making process, where members are involved in all aspects of the project, from design to budget allocation. The organisation's approach has been recognised for its innovative approach to housing, addressing the need for affordable and sustainable living spaces while promoting community engagement and social cohesion. With its unique model and commitment to social and ecological principles, Entrepatios offers a compelling alternative to traditional housing options in Spain.
