GOLDBECK: Building Systems from Bielefeld Founded in 1969 by Ortwin Goldbeck in Bielefeld-Ummeln, GOLDBECK has evolved from a small steel construction company with seven employees into a major European construction firm employing around 11,000 people with revenue of 5 billion euros as of 2022. The company specializes in systematic modular construction, prefabricating 80-90% of building components in its ten plants before assembly on site. This industrial approach to construction allows GOLDBECK to complete projects more efficiently than traditional builders. Now led by Ortwin's sons Jörg-Uwe and Jan-Hendrik Goldbeck since 2007, the company offers turnkey construction of warehouses, industrial buildings, office complexes, school buildings, multi-storey car parks, and residential buildings. They also provide building refurbishment, expansion services, property management, and facility management. GOLDBECK has established itself as the market leader in multi-level car parks, building approximately half of Germany's parking structures. A notable recent achievement was constructing Tesla's gigafactory near Berlin, completed in just eleven months from June 2020 to May 2021. The company has expanded internationally with strategic acquisitions, including French construction company GSE in 2019 and Danish family business DS Gruppen in 2022 to enter the Scandinavian market. GOLDBECK maintains its headquarters in Bielefeld while operating approximately 100 locations throughout Europe, including 13 manufacturing plants. Despite its modular approach, each building is customized to client specifications, combining standardized efficiency with architectural individuality.
