Provides social impact investments for vulnerable communities.
Resonance Limited, headquartered in Launceston, Cornwall, is a private social impact investment company established in 2002. The company was registered by Daniel Brewer, drawing initial support from the Dawe Charitable Trust. Its creation was driven by a perceived gap for not-for-profit organisations to access growth capital, aiming to create investment models that prioritize social purpose alongside financial returns. Initially focused on advisory work, Resonance expanded into fund management, launching its first homelessness property fund in 2013 in partnership with St Mungo’s. This shift marked the start of substantial growth, allowing housing charities to access properties for vulnerable people through investment rather than borrowing. Today, Resonance manages around £344 million in funds across 11 impact investment vehicles and supports over 3,500 individuals and families in more than 1,100 properties. Their projects concentrate on addressing homelessness, supporting people with learning disabilities, and providing safe housing for women with complex needs. The firm employs over 60 staff in offices throughout the UK, with its main office at The Great Barn, Scarne Court, Launceston. Resonance works closely with experienced housing partners to offer solutions that integrate both suitable housing and access to additional support—such as pathways to employment or health interventions. Notable initiatives include the Women in Safe Homes fund, considered a pioneering model addressing safe accommodation for women affected by abuse or the criminal justice system. Resonance has been recognized in industry circles, having won Investment Company of the Year at the REII Forum in 2023.
