MONA'S LIESING is an innovative housing project planned for Vienna's 23rd district, developed by the non-profit housing associations WBV-GPA and NEUES LEBEN. The project aims to create an affordable, sustainable, and climate-resilient neighborhood for current and future generations. The development will consist of approximately 380 subsidized rental apartments, including about 100 SMART apartments, a residential home with around 40 units for the WaLeWi building group, and various community facilities. The project emphasizes social sustainability, with the Caritas Wien engaged in community development and social support. A key feature is the Quartiershaus, a centrally located wooden building with a multi-purpose room for various events. The project also includes modern leisure facilities such as a central indoor pool, a quarter café, and winter gardens on the roof terraces to promote urban gardening. MONA'S LIESING prioritizes environmental consciousness, with energy supply based on deep probes, solar thermal energy, and photovoltaics to achieve a CO2-neutral balance. The project aims to set new standards in multi-story residential construction, combining high quality of life with environmentally friendly and socially sustainable principles. Construction is planned to begin in late 2024 or early 2025, with completion expected in 2027. The project demonstrates how careful planning and innovative concepts can create a livable, sustainable, and inclusive living space in large-scale housing projects.
