The GICA Impact Network, formally known as the Global Impact Citizen Alliance, is an international peer-to-peer network focused on advancing the impact economy by connecting startups, investors, and leaders dedicated to social and environmental progress. Founded in 2024 by the charitable foundation AusserGewöhnlich Berlin, GICA is rooted in Berlin but aspires to serve as a global “capital city” for impact-driven individuals and organizations. By fostering collaboration among impact startups, investors, and ESG leaders, GICA emphasizes mutual support and equal partnership to accelerate systemic change. The network offers members access to a hybrid mix of events, including the regular GICA Glocal Congress, and digital platforms like Club-WebTV. These connections facilitate deal flow, knowledge exchange, mentorship, global expansion, and brand enhancement for participants. Special programs, such as the 17ACADEMY, are designed to enhance members’ skills and expertise in impact networking and project success. GICA’s mission is to rapidly grow the global impact ecosystem by promoting partnerships, investments, and the sharing of resources. It addresses the need for faster, more coordinated progress towards the UN Sustainable Development Goals, in particular fostering partnerships (SDG 17) through systemized relationships, operational insights, and global networking. The advisory board comprises experts from renowned organizations across Europe, ensuring diverse perspectives and strategic guidance for the network’s ongoing development.
