The Social Entrepreneurship Network Germany (SEND) supports social enterprises by advocating for policy change, increasing visibility, and fostering collaboration among stakeholders in the social entrepreneurship ecosystem.
The Social Entrepreneurship Network Germany (SEND) is a national network of social enterprises founded in 2017 to give German social entrepreneurs a voice, increase visibility, and build bridges to politics, civil society, and businesses. SEND aims to improve the framework for social innovations and create a society where everyone benefits from progress. The network represents, connects, and supports the growing community of social enterprises in Germany, providing a platform for advocacy, financial support mechanisms, and awareness about social entrepreneurship among policy makers, the mainstream economy, and civil society. SEND's primary goals include: 1. Creating a network for social enterprises, entrepreneurs, and experts at federal and sub-national levels. 2. Advocating for more suitable policies and recognition with policy makers. 3. Increasing visibility for social entrepreneurs and their innovative solutions. 4. Professionalising the social entrepreneurship ecosystem. SEND has successfully networked with over 700 members, including private and sponsoring members, and has developed numerous contacts with policy makers. The network has contributed to the development of a specific programme for social entrepreneurs by the Federal Ministry of Economy, among other achievements.
