The International Day of Cooperatives 2024 took place on July 6, 2024. This annual celebration, observed on the first Saturday of July, aims to increase awareness of cooperatives and their contributions to a just and sustainable future for all. The 2024 theme was "Cooperatives Build a Better Future for All," aligning with the objectives of the upcoming UN Summit of the Future, which focuses on multilateral solutions for a better tomorrow.

The event marked the 102nd International Cooperative Day and the 30th UN International Day of Cooperatives. Cooperatives around the world showcased their current and historical contributions to building a sustainable future, accelerating efforts to implement the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) by 2030. The International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) provided a media kit, including logos, key messages, and other digital resources, to help celebrate the day.

The event also built momentum towards the 2025 International Year of Cooperatives, declared by the UN to promote cooperatives and raise awareness of their contributions to sustainable development. The ICA invited cooperators to spread the word about the Agenda 2030 and to show the world what can be achieved through the power of cooperation.
