The polis Convention 2024 was held on April 24 and 25 at Areal Böhler in Düsseldorf, Germany, and was organised by “polis – Magazin für Urban Development.” This annual convention is one of the leading national events in Germany for urban and project development, bringing together over 300 exhibitors and a wide audience of urban planners, municipal authorities, investors, architects, and students. The 2024 edition, marking its tenth anniversary, featured the theme “SAME. SAME … BUT DIFFERENT – ALLES BLEIBT … ANDERS,” highlighting the need for both continuity and fresh strategies in the creation of liveable urban spaces.
Key topics at the event included sustainability in urban planning and construction, technical innovation, and developments in the refurbishment of existing buildings. The programme offered numerous networking opportunities, workshops for young talent through the new polisWERK.STADT platform, and the traditional presentation of the polisAWARD recognizing innovative urban projects. The event also enjoyed the support of the German Property Federation (ZIA) and the Federal Foundation of Baukultur. Throughout its two days, the polis Convention promoted interdisciplinary dialogue and showcased the latest ideas for the future of cities.
