The European Correspondent seeks to address the lack of comprehensive European media by providing coverage from a continent-wide team of journalists. It aims to foster community-funded journalism that explores stories of interest to European citizens while promoting transparency and innovation in reporting.
European journalism is under construction.
Europe lacks true European media: in Germany alone, more media outlets are devoted exclusively to football than news outlets specialising in Europe. The established players mainly focus on Brussels and European institutions - not looking at the continent as a whole and across the borders of the Union.
The European Correspondent aims to change that. Through our team of correspondents, we cover the whole of Europe and write for a community of citizens who want to look beyond their national borders.
Because while the rich and powerful are already organised internationally, civil society is not yet.
Continent-wide team
The European Correspondent consists of over 150 driven journalists and organisers residing all over Europe, collecting and bringing stories from our part of the continent to yours.
Community-funded
Journalism is a public good - and as such, we rely on readers’ contributions and donations and will practice absolute transparency concerning our finances.
Trial and error
We test new formats and aim to identify stories that are truly interesting to a European audience. Together with you, we develop the future of European journalism.
