Founded in 2014, it is the first media outlet managed as a European press cooperative, with contributors, readers, and members from over 30 countries. Voxeurop continues the mission of its predecessor, Presseurop, which operated from 2009 to 2013, and has made Presseurop’s extensive archive available to users.
The platform addresses topics tied to democracy, human rights, climate change, and European integration, offering news in up to 10 languages. Its content is curated by a network of journalists, translators, and cartoonists, many of whom are shareholders in the cooperative. Voxeurop actively partners with other media organizations and initiatives, such as the European Data Journalism Network, to enhance collaborative reporting and promote European values across borders.
As a socially responsible and independent enterprise, Voxeurop reinvests its profits into journalism and upholds editorial integrity through oversight by its Supervisory Board, which includes journalists and translators. The outlet has also earned recognition for promoting European knowledge and democratic values, receiving awards like the Altiero Spinelli Prize and the Lorenzo Natali Prize.
