New Europeans

New Europeans is a network organization dedicated to advocating for a Europe that prioritizes social justice, equality, and human rights. The organization offers legal advice and support, particularly focusing on the EU Settlement Scheme (EUSS) for vulnerable communities in the UK. In Leicester, where EU/EEA citizens who have applied for EUSS comprise nearly one-third of the population, New Europeans works with Portuguese, Polish, Italian, and Romanian communities, with specific support for Somali, Romanian, and Roma populations. They partner with voluntary and community organizations to ensure support is available and accessible. New Europeans UK has been active in policy and influence activities, engaging in various forums to share information and concerns, and to influence practice and policy. They attend Home Office Civil Society and Vulnerable User groups, as well as the EU Delegations Monitoring group alongside embassies from the 27 EU member states. The organization has developed a dedicated website with resources in multiple languages to support EU citizens and partner organizations. They provide services at the Highfields Centre in Leicester and can be contacted via email or phone for appointments. New Europeans UK is funded by Justice Together for their work in Leicester and continues to make a positive impact on the lives of thousands affected by post-Brexit changes to citizens' rights.
