The Irish Council for Social Housing (ICSH) is pleased to announce that Dublin has been selected as the next host location for the International Social Housing Festival (ISHF) in 2025. Speaking after the closing ceremony of ISHF 2023 in Barcelona, Donal McManus CEO of the ICSH said:
“The ICSH, together with Co-operative Housing Ireland (CHI) and Housing Europe are pleased that Dublin has been selected to host the next ISHF in 2025. Hosting the event in Dublin is an opportunity to learn from international best practice in terms of public housing delivery, while also demonstrating some of the work underway in Ireland to ramp-up delivery under Housing for All. We are delighted to have the support from our delivery partners including the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, Darragh O’ Brien, the Housing Agency, the Housing Finance Agency, all four Dublin local authorities, the UCD Geary Institute and Fáilte Ireland.”
President of the ICSH, Tina Donaghy stated: “Hosting this event in Dublin will allow both Approved Housing Bodies and Local Authorities to demonstrate the progress made under the government’s housing plan. It is also an opportunity to share ideas and learn from the experiences of our colleagues both in Europe and further afield. The housing crisis we are feeling here is impacting so many people, young and old, especially the most vulnerable. Sharing information and solutions is important as we seek to deliver more much needed homes.”

The **International Social Housing Festival** (**ISHF**) is an event organized by Housing Europe, the European Federation of Public, Cooperative and Social Housing, and its members and allies. The festival started in 2017 and has been held annually since then, with each edition being hosted by a different country. The 5th edition of the festival is scheduled to take place in Dublin, Ireland, in June 2025. The festival covers various topics related to social housing, including discussions between social and affordable housing providers, policymakers, researchers, city authorities, urbanists, architects, and activists. It is designed to be a unique opportunity for these groups to discuss the right to housing and shape the agenda of the festival. The target audience for ISHF includes public, cooperative, social, community-led housing providers, decision-makers at different levels, tenants unions, urbanists, architects, NGOs, researchers, and activists. The main protagonists are the organizations and individuals who strive to advance housing systems and make them fair. ISHF uses various formats to facilitate discussions and exchange of ideas, such as presentations, workshops, panel discussions, and networking events. Housing cooperatives play a role in the event as they are part of the social housing sector that the festival aims to support and promote. What makes ISHF special or stand out is its focus on bringing together diverse stakeholders from across Europe and beyond to discuss and shape the future of social housing.
